4. Miles Bridges

  • Height: 6’6”
  • Weight: 220 lbs
  • Position: SF/PF
  • Age: 20

If Miles Bridges would have declared for the NBA draft last season, he would have been a top-eight pick, but he decided to head back to Michigan State. He had a good season but did hurt his draft stock a little bit. He is now being slotted behind younger guys. Bridges is a big wing with a thick frame, is explosive and is an all-around player on both ends. He can shoot, score, pass, rebound, defend and he makes smart plays.

Last season at Michigan State, Bridges averaged 17.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.8 blocks in 31.4 minutes per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from the 3-point line. Bridges does all the little things NBA teams search for and is a guy who will probably have an NBA career that lasts 10-plus years.

For the Blazers, Bridges could play both small forward and power forward. He could eventually replace the roles of Maurice Harkless, Evan Turner or Al-Farouq Aminu. Bridges is probably already a better shooter than those three guys.

He could immediately be a role player off the bench as a rookie because of his shooting and ability to guard multiple positions. His skill-set would be a boost to the Blazers’ current weaknesses. During the draft, the Blazers should keep track of Bridges, and if he starts to slip a little bit, they should make a move for him somewhere in the late lottery.
