Anfernee Simons. 30. player. 125. With their third pick in the first round, the Atlanta Hawks go all in on upside. Having already established two strong pieces in Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jacob Evans, they can take a good swing here. Anfernee Simons has a ways to go to being NBA-ready, but his combination of athleticism and shooting is really appealing. Still just a teenager, having spent a post graduate year at IMG Academy, he’s probably more behind the curve than his college freshman draft classmates. Simons is a little undersized to be a 2, but he could end up one of the best scorers in this whole class. With three picks, Atlanta needs to do its best to make them count. Simons would be a smart move with the last pick in round one.. PG/SG. IMG Academy
