player. 18. This pick has Danny Ainge’s magic written all over it. After how smart he’s looked with the selection of Jayson Tatum, whoever they take here is probably going to be good. Hyperbole aside, there’s likely two types of players the Boston Celtics consider here. They’ll go for either sneaky good upside or a super high floor. Jarred Vanderbilt is a first round talent hampered by injuries and the lack of a jump shot. Vanderbilt on his day, though, is as good a passer and rebounder as any big in the class. Add in an ability to handle in the open court fluidly, and he might have the best package in the class. He’s a big man whose lack of a jumper could survive next to a big man like Al Horford. Any pick with Brad Stevens typically gets a boost. His defense and passing could best be unlocked in Boston.. PF. Kentucky. Jarred Vanderbilt. 27
