De'Anthony Melton. 20. player. 86. De’Anthony Melton seems like the top of prospect Tom Thibodeau should love. The former USC guard could be the best defensive guard in the draft. While a bit under 6’4″, his long wingspan, toughness and high IQ more than make up for it. He’s the type of guard that would make the Minnesota Timberwolves better on defense, better overall and help them eventually move on beyond Jeff Teague. While Melton isn’t ready to be a full-time point guard now, or ever, he should be able to guard 2s in the NBA. The key for him is improving his shot and handle. Both look better than his freshman year at USC. Now as we start picking in the 20s, he’s an easy guy to talk yourself into.. PG/SG. USC
