7. Jrue Holiday saves the day in nail-biter against Miami Heat

Following the All-Star break, the Pelicans were hoping to continue their winning streak as they faced off against the Miami Heat on Feb. 23. Fans at the Smoothie King Center were treated to one heck of a game, as there were 13 ties and nine lead changes, with neither team able to build a double-digit lead.

With that in mind, it was only fitting that it took more than 48 minutes to decide the outcome of this game. While Davis has become the go-to guy on the roster, and rightfully so, it was Holiday who played the role of hero in this one.

With the Pels trailing by a point in the waning moments of the first overtime period, Holiday hit a nice floater with 7.3 seconds left to play. The Heat still had a chance to come out on top, but Dwyane Wade’s jumper from the free throw line and Josh Richardson’s put-back attempt both missed the mark, enabling the Pelicans to come away with a 124-123 win.

Holiday finished the evening with 29 points on 11-for-20 shooting to go along with nine dimes and seven rebounds.
