The New Orleans Pelicans defied the odds en route to their first postseason appearance since 2014-15. Hereā€™s a look back at their top 10 moments from the 2017-18 season.

The New Orleans Pelicans have missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. Needless to say, they were hoping to change their luck coming into the 2017-18 campaign.

Initially, things went fairly well for the Pels during the first half of the season, thanks in part to the addition of Rajon Rondo and the emergence of Jrue Holiday ā€“ who had missed a total of 122 games over the past four seasons.

Unfortunately, their feel-good story hit an unexpected speed bump when All-Star DeMarcus Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. In spite of his absence, and the fact that they dropped five of the next six outings following Cousinsā€™ injury, the Pelicans went on an impressive 10-game winning streak that spanned from mid-February to early March.

They also won their last five games of the season, which enabled them to return to the playoffs following a two-year hiatus. While their playoff run didnā€™t end the way they would have liked, there are plenty of positive moments that gave the Pelicans fans something to cheer about.

So without further delay, hereā€™s a look at the top 10 moments from the Pelicansā€™ 2017-18 season.
