The New Orleans Pelicans defied the odds en route to their first postseason appearance since 2014-15. Here’s a look back at their top 10 moments from the 2017-18 season.

The New Orleans Pelicans have missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. Needless to say, they were hoping to change their luck coming into the 2017-18 campaign.

Initially, things went fairly well for the Pels during the first half of the season, thanks in part to the addition of Rajon Rondo and the emergence of Jrue Holiday – who had missed a total of 122 games over the past four seasons.

Unfortunately, their feel-good story hit an unexpected speed bump when All-Star DeMarcus Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. In spite of his absence, and the fact that they dropped five of the next six outings following Cousins’ injury, the Pelicans went on an impressive 10-game winning streak that spanned from mid-February to early March.

They also won their last five games of the season, which enabled them to return to the playoffs following a two-year hiatus. While their playoff run didn’t end the way they would have liked, there are plenty of positive moments that gave the Pelicans fans something to cheer about.

So without further delay, here’s a look at the top 10 moments from the Pelicans’ 2017-18 season.
