The Detroit Pistons may have more talent on the roster than their 39-43 record from last season suggests.

Even the most casual NBA fan can name the signature strengths and playing styles of the league’s most prominent superstars, whose games and highlights they see on national TV and on social media on a regular basis.

Stephen Curry runs circles around defenders before draining ridiculously deep 3-pointers. James Harden uses the basketball like a yo-yo until the man in front of him either falls down or fouls him. LeBron James surveys the landscape and calculates his move before dropping off a precise pass or steamrolling his way to a bucket.

For teams like the Detroit Pistons that don’t get as much attention, their players have skills and abilities that often go unrecognized.

Everyone knows Blake Griffin can dunk. Everyone knows Andre Drummond gets a lot of rebounds. But those two, along with other members of the Detroit roster, also have some hidden talents that are overlooked unless you’re really paying attention to this team.
