3. Rawle Alkins

Rawle Alkins battled some injuries during his sophomore season with the Arizona Wildcats, but he is someone that is NBA-ready. He has the size, motor and work ethic to make an impact right away at the next level.

Alkins is a great athlete that gets after it defensively. Given his 6’5”, 220-pound frame, he can defend multiple positions with ease. He is an extremely powerful player that uses his strength to his advantage on both ends of the court.

Defensively, he uses that to slow down opponents. Offensively, he bullies opponents driving to the basket and finishes well around the rim. Alkins scores well off the dribble, but he needs to work on his jump shot.

Alkins’ shooting percentages dropped across the board in his sophomore season. After shooting .463/.370/.733 as a freshman, Alkins shot .432/.359/.723 his second year at Arizona. The drop isn’t too drastic, but it is still noteworthy that it dipped. His rebounding also dropped, which could have been in part because of his injuries.

There is a lot to build on with Alkins. He is already a great defender with good playmaking skills. If he can get his jump shot on track, he will become a very good NBA player. His athleticism and motor will endear himself to whichever team selects him.
