4. Bruce Brown

Bruce Brown injured his foot last season at the end of January and missed the remainder of the season. Despite that injury, Brown declared for the 2018 NBA Draft. Brown played only 19 games, but has what it takes to make it in the NBA.

Brown stuffed the stat sheet in his time at Miami. The most impressive thing about his game is his rebounding ability. Despite being 6’5”, Brown averaged 7.1 rebounds per game in his sophomore season before going down with an injury. In his freshman season, he averaged 5.6 per game, so it was not a fluke.

He is a good athlete who will make his impact defensively in addition to the rebounding department. However, if he truly wants to make an impact, he will have to improve offensively, specifically with his jump shot.

Brown saw his shooting numbers drop in his sophomore season from his freshman season. After shooting .459/.347/.744 as a freshman, he shot .415/.267/.629. That drop will be a red flag for some teams, and rightfully so. However, there are enough other things to like that Brown is a worthwhile risk near the top of the second round.

The injury and shooting woes will be what knocks Brown into the second round. However, if he can improve his jump shot, he has a chance to develop into a great two-way player at the next level. His defense and rebounding make him a worthwhile draft pick.
