Phoenix Suns: 5 options for pick No. 59 in 2018 NBA Draft
1. Isaac Bonga, SF — Germany
Leading the list of draft-and-stash candidates likely to be available near the end of the second round is Isaac Bonga, one of the youngest players in the entire draft class and a prime candidate to keep overseas for a few years of seasoning.
The 6’9″ wing from Germany boasts serious playmaking potential, and though he’s extremely turnover-prone at this point, he has plenty of time to fine-tune his game as a potential point forward, or at the very least, an unfair secondary playmaker.
Though his 6.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for the Frankfurt Skyliners hardly leap off the page, keep in mind that he only averaged 21.3 minutes per game and is still only 18 years old.
Bonga’s biggest shortcoming at this point is his shot. His mechanics need some work, he passes up open looks and he’s unable to quickly create his shot off the dribble. However, that will come with time and additional strength, which will also help him compete on the defensive end as he fills out his frame.

Projected to go with the final pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by The Ringer, Bonga’s ball-handling, pick-and-roll manipulation and passing ability are already impressive. Should the Suns keep their 59th overall pick and not want to use it on a player who will actually be on the roster for 2018-19, Isacc Bonga represents a prime candidate.
