2. Arnoldas Kulboka, SF — Lithuania

Kostas and Clark are nice options, but let’s be honest: If the Phoenix Suns are actually using this pick, it’s probably going to be on a draft-and-stash guy. Enter Arnoldas Kulboka, a 20-year-old wing from Lithuania.

In a league that values 3-point shooting so highly, Kulboka would be a welcome addition down the road, helping spread the floor for the Suns off the bench thanks to his spot-up prowess. He converted 37.4 percent of his looks from long range this year and thanks to his 6’10” build, getting his shot off isn’t a problem against most defenders.

Even better, Kulboka is capable of getting clean looks off the dribble, making him more well-rounded than your typical catch-and-shoot threat. Step-backs are within his arsenal, and he could function as a secondary or tertiary playmaker on the wing as well. ESPN‘s latest mock has him falling to the Suns at No. 59.

Kulboka almost certainly needs to add bulk to his frame, as he’d get pushed around by NBA 3s and 4s on the defensive end. He also has a tendency to shy away from contact when attacking the basket, which is probably a byproduct of that lack of strength and sheer mass.

However, if this projected second round pick is still available this late in the draft, the Suns would have to consider picking the draft-and-stash guy they could let develop overseas before bringing over to join a (hopefully) more successful roster down the line.
