3. Devonte’ Graham, PG — Kansas

If the Suns are using the 59th pick, there’s a good chance they traded No. 16 and/or No. 31, which means unless they took Trae Young at No. 1, they’ll still probably need some backcourt depth. If that’s the case, taking an experienced and accomplished four-year player like Devonte’ Graham would be a terrific decision — provided he’s still on the board.

In his senior season at Kansas, Graham put up 17.3 points, 7.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, and though he only shot 40 percent from the field, he converted 39.2 percent of his 3-point attempts. During his four years with the Jayhawks, Graham shot 40.9 percent from long range on a whopping 5.1 attempts per game.

It’s clear he can shoot the ball from 3-point range, but he clearly made a jump in playmaking ability as a point guard in his senior year too. Though he’s just shy of 6’2″, his 6’6″ wingspan helps him compete on the defensive end, as does his unwavering energy.

At 23 years old, Graham has limited upside, but that’s probably true of any 59th overall pick. Like Jevon Carter and Jalen Brunson, Graham is an experienced prospect who could become a highly respected and reliable backup at the next level.

Graham is projected to be taken somewhere in the 40s in most mock drafts, so this might just be wishful thinking. But if one of college basketball’s most recognizable names who already worked out in Phoenix does slip to the end of the draft, the Suns should be eager to scoop him up.
