Weaknesses

The biggest flaw in Rivers’ game is his inconsistency. He played in 61 games, starting 59 of them. He scored 10 points or less on 16 separate occasions. In those games, the Clippers went 5-11. If the Clippers want more success, he will have to limit his poor shooting nights by figuring out different ways to score.

One way he could do this is by improving his free throw shooting. He shot 64.2 percent from the free throw line on 2.6 attempts per game, which is embarrassingly low for a shooting guard. For a player who operates around the rim as much as he does, both of those numbers should be higher.

Along with the injuries, the amount of roster changes caused by the Chris Paul and Blake Griffin trades meant there were few players capable of running the offense. With Rivers on the court, the Clippers are 30-31. With him off of it, they are 12-9. This implies that he played more than he should, averaging 33.7 minutes per game.
