The 2017-18 season was a success, but here’s a look at five goals that the Boston Celtics must do over the offseason to make next year even better.

There’s no denying that what the Boston Celtics did during the 2017-18 season was impressive. The amount of injuries that they had, mixed in with young talent, was nothing short of amazing. It just goes to show how great of a coach Brad Stevens truly is.

The Celtics saw Gordon Hayward go down with a devastating injury, they lost Kyrie Irving at the end of the season and other players like Jaylen Brown, Marcus Morris, Marcus Smart and Al Horford were all occasionally banged up as well.

The Celtics are a young team with a lot of potential moving forward. It’s just a matter of whether they can keep their core in place for years to come and whether the young budding stars develop as anticipated. But what can they do over the offseason to make sure they can push toward another championship in the city of Boston?

They almost had a shot at playing in the NBA Finals. That is, if it weren’t for LeBron James, of course. The Celtics can hold their heads high knowing they were taken down by one of the best to ever play the game.

The Celtics have only one first round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, though the 27th pick in this year’s draft is very important because it’s such an impressive class. What they do with that pick will become more clear after June 21.

Bearing all this in mind, here’s a look at five things the Celtics must do this offseason in order to push themselves ahead of other teams in the Eastern Conference and the league in general.
