While it’s long been seen as a remote chance, there have been recent indications that a LeBron James-Miami Heat reunion is not as fanciful as once thought.

The general consensus is that he’s done everything he can in his current environment.

After his Cleveland Cavaliers were swept in the NBA Finals at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, the thought process of the entire NBA  landscape immediately shifted to the impending free agency period.

More specifically, where will LeBron James be playing come the start of next season?

At 33 and incredibly still in the prime of his career, James has a virtual open slate of destinations to choose from this offseason. Naturally, the first places that come to mind are those widely viewed as being the next in line to challenge the Warriors.

The most prominent destinations mentioned in terms of title contention have been the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs and most recently, the Boston Celtics. In terms of pure lifestyle considerations, the Los Angeles Lakers have long been viewed as being at the top of James’ wish list.

Following his defeat to the Warriors, James stated the following in regards to his future outlook:

So while they aren’t the first choice of a number of pundits, here are some key storylines that have developed in recent times that point to a LeBron-Heat reunion possibility.
