1. Donte Grantham, SF — Clemson

Donte Grantham had a nice bounce-back year in his senior season at Clemson. His field goal percentage went from sub-40s in his first three seasons to 56.0 percent. He averaged career-highs with 14.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Clemson started 14-1 behind Grantham’s strong play. His best performance of the year came against Boston College, when he scored a season-high 23 points, 14 rebounds and five assists. Unfortunately, his stellar season was cut short due to a knee injury.

Grantham’s 3-point percentages aren’t high, but his willingness to shoot from there says a lot about his confidence and openness with the game. His burst and speed allows him to blow by slower defenders and he can run the floor to find open teammates. His defense is also another part of his game that will translate well to the NBA level.

Grantham could compete for minutes with Doug McDermott behind starter Harrison Barnes. If he continues to put in the work in Rick Carlisle’s system, Grantham could wind up being the Mavericks’ future starter at the small forward spot.
