With their second consecutive championship in hand, the Golden State Warriors have a great shot of adding another title to their collection in 2018-19.

This past season for the Golden State Warriors ended exactly as the previous one, with the Larry O’ Brien trophy firmly in their possession and a summer of celebration awaiting.

It was a brilliant showing of dominance by Golden State in the 2018 NBA Finals, sweeping what was clearly an overmatched Cleveland Cavaliers squad despite the Herculean efforts of LeBron James.

Kevin Durant won his second consecutive Finals MVP, while Stephen Curry continued to prove he can perform on the game’s grandest stage, averaging 27.5 points, 6.8 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Everyone within the Warriors organization will have their time to celebrate this accomplishment, with some having to get back to work earlier than others.

It seems silly to predict who will be crowned champions in 2019, as we’ve yet to even hit free agency, where there is sure to be roster turnover throughout the league in an attempt to thwart this Golden State dynasty.

Opponents may improve. Super-teams may be created. But until proven otherwise, there should be little reason to think the Warriors won’t become the first team to win three consecutive championships since the 2000-02 Los Angeles Lakers.
