3. Tony Carr

Penn State’s Tony Carr is another scoring guard that the Wizards could get their hands on in the second round. He averaged 19.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in his second and final season with the Nittany Lions.

Carr shot an impressive 43.3 percent from beyond the arc in 2018. He was dangerous in isolation, able to either create space with a crossover or simply launch up a high-arching jumper. At 6’5″ and 199 pounds, Carr also had a solid post-up game for a guard that allowed him to back down smaller defenders. He was also quite the playmaker, averaging 5.0 assists per game, fifth-best in the Big Ten.

However, Carr struggled with scoring the closer he got to the rim. He wasn’t much of a finisher at the basket, settling for mid-range jumpers and floaters. He shot an underwhelming 39.5 percent from inside the arc in 2018.

Nevertheless, if developed correctly, Tony Carr’s scoring and playmaking abilities make him a good fit on a Wizards roster in serious need of a backup facilitator that can score in bunches.
