Milwaukee Bucks: 5 goals for the 2018 offseason
The Milwaukee Bucks endured a tumultuous 2017-18 season and now must look to the future. What goals should this team have for the offseason?
The Milwaukee Bucks faced an important decision this offseason, one that could set the course of their franchise for the next decade. With head coach Jason Kidd and interim Joe Prunty heading out the door, the team had to carefully select the man or woman to guide this roster to contention during the prime of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
That decision has been made, and Mike Budenholzer is now head coach of the Bucks. A former San Antonio Spurs assistant who learned at the side of Gregg Popovich, Budenholzer found success with an Atlanta Hawks team that consistently won more games than expected.
To give Budenholzer the tools he needs, the Bucks now must turn their gaze to the offseason. The 2018 NBA Draft is only days away, and free agency is just nine days later. While their cap situation is inflexible, the Bucks are not without decisions to make and resources to leverage to add to this team.
Starting with the NBA Draft, what should the Bucks be aiming for this offseason? How can they build a team around Antetokounmpo that will challenge for the Eastern Conference crown? And what five goals should the team have for the 2018 offseason?
