The Indiana Pacers enter the summer with something they never thought they’d get this season: expectations. Here’s five ways they can keep defying the odds.

We just passed the 30th anniversary of everyone’s favorite body-swapping comedy, Big. If you’re one of the eight people who hasn’t seen it, the movie features a kid who wanted nothing more than to be a grown-up only to find out that life in the real world isn’t as great as it’s cracked up to be (otherwise known as the plot of every coming-of-age movie ever made).

In the NBA this season, the Indiana Pacers slipped a quarter into the the old Zoltar machine and the next morning they woke up a playoff squad. Their seven-game romp with the eventual Eastern Conference champs was the equivalent of the day Josh Baskin got his trampoline delivered. A good time was had by all.

Everything won’t be blow-up Godzillas and bunk beds for long though. With great power comes great responsibility, and heading into next year, the Pacers aren’t going to sneak up on anybody. Here are five goals for their 2018 offseason that will help ensure they stay a step ahead of the curve.
