1. Are the Bulls in the market for a point guard?

On the negative side, Kris Dunn played just 52 games in 2017-18. On the plus side, he posted career numbers across the board, thus cementing why the Bulls were interested him when he was taken with the No. 5 pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2016.

That, along with the fact that Paxson stated that he felt comfortable heading into next season with Dunn as the starting point guard and Cameron Payne at the backup spot, it was a foregone conclusion that the Bulls would not be in the market for a point guard in this year’s draft.

Not so fast.

According to Chicago Sun-Times’ Joe Cowley, multiple sources have stated that the Bulls haven’t been head over heels about Dunn’s offseason regimen thus far and because of that fact, they may be entertaining the idea of taking a point guard with the first of their two picks.

Whether the report is valid or not remains to be seen. However, it is worth noting that the Bulls went into the 2015 NBA Draft with the intention of drafting a backup for Derrick Rose. As you may recall, they opted to go with SEC Player of the Year Bobby Portis instead.

With that being said, it is quite possible that the front office could indeed decide to draft another point guard (i.e. Trae Young or Collin Sexton), even if it’s not a position of need right now.
