10 most impactful moments from the 2017-18 NBA season

Now that the 2017-18 NBA season is officially over, let’s take a look back at the 10 most impactful moments from the season, starting from the first tip-off until the final buzzer.
The 2017-18 NBA season brought many memorable moments. Whether those moments were for the benefit or to the detriment of your favorite team, they were memorable nonethless.
In seasons past, we’ve seen jaw-dropping moments during the season such as trade deadline drama, breakout players, unfortunate injuries, improbable playoff runs and much, much more.
This article will strictly focus on the memorable moments during the season, not prior to the season. That’s not to say, however, that those moments weren’t impactful to the actual season. For example, before the 2017-18 campaign started, the Celtics traded down in the NBA Draft and still got their guy (Jayson Tatum). They also traded for All-Star point guard, Kyrie Irving. The flip side of that trade was that the Eastern Conference favorite, Cleveland Cavaliers, traded said All-Star to their Eastern Conference rivals. This would end up coming back to bite them later.
Of course, like every list that you try to assemble, there must be some qualified candidates that are left out. I mean, there could be an entire book written on this season of the NBA, but for the sake of your reading (and my writing), I’ve narrowed the moments down to 10.
The honorable mentions include: burner accounts on Twitter (both Kevin Durant and Bryan Colangelo), the Boston Celtics’ improbable run to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals and Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s incredible rise to stardom.

Before we get underway, it’s important to note that these 10 moments are not necessarily in order of how important or impactful they were, rather the general timing that they occurred, starting from opening night to the final game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers (I say general timing because some of these moments don’t have an exact date).
