The Washington Wizards have some kinks to work out after an early exit in the postseason. It should be a busy offseason for them this summer.

The 2017-18 season didn’t go quite as planned for the Washington Wizards. John Wall missed half the season with a knee injury. Otto Porter Jr. was on the injured list by the end of the postseason as well.

Though injuries are part of the game, the Wizards’ response to those injuries was less than ideal. Now, they should have a busy offseason ahead of them as they will have the 15th selection in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft.

On the free agency front, Tim Frazier, Chris McCullough, Ty Lawson, Ramon Sessions and Mike Scott will all be unrestricted free agents. Lawson and Scott both played big roles off the bench in the playoffs, but it may be difficult to keep both from a financial standpoint to enter the 2018-19 season.

In the frontcourt, there’s Marcin Gortat and Ian Mahinmi, two traditional big men who haven’t seemed to fit with the small-ball way of life Washington wants to play. It will be interesting to see if the front office tests their trade value this summer or continues to stick it out with them.

The Wizards will have a busy offseason on their hands seeing what may or may not work. Here’s a look at five offseason goals for them in 2018.
