Sacramento Kings: The pros and cons of drafting Luka Doncic No. 2
Con No. 3: The European scare
Since overseas players began entering the NBA Draft, there’s been a stigma regarding their abilities on the court. There are some who believe that European players are soft, with their games unable to translate to the NBA.
Is this true? Most likely no, but with the track record of such players filled with hits and misses, it’s hard to quiet the skeptics.
With Euro-bred Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovic in their front office, Sacramento may not be a team that believes in such skepticism.
However, the Kings — led by owner Vivek Ranadive — have been known to make some head-scratching decisions in the past.
Sure, they may feel like Doncic is their guy, but maybe as the draft nears, Ranadive would feel more comfortable drafting someone who’s more well-versed in American culture and the way the game is played here.
