Pro No. 2: Doncic owned the EuroLeague

In 61 EuroLeague games this past season, Doncic averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

Solid numbers no doubt, but they become all the more impressive when accounting for his 25 minutes a game. Bump his minutes up to 36 and his averages equate to 20.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists.

Per-36 minute numbers should always be taken with a grain of salt, as they don’t take into account things like fatigue and matchups. This shouldn’t take away, however, from the fact that Doncic did all of this as a 19-year-old.

The EuroLeague is considered by many to be the second-best league in the world, behind only the NBA. The league is filled with grown men, some with NBA experience — unlike the college game, where the oldest players have yet to hit even 24.

For Doncic to play that well at a young age against real basketball talent is an impressive feat. Facing such talent should serve him well as a rookie, shortening the learning curve while allowing him to hit the ground running once the season begins.
