With the Miami Heat likely looking to shed some long-term deals, here are three potential trade options for shooting guard Dion Waiters.

Dion Waiters is undoubtedly one of the more polarizing players in the league.

Despite an abundance of talent, the Miami Heat shooting guard has now completed his seventh NBA season without truly making his mark on the league. As the No. 4 overall pick in 2012, Waiters has shown flashes of brilliance but has not been able to produce this for an extended period of time.

Hi best recent stretch of play came in the midst of the Heat’s 30-11 finish to the 2016-17 season. Over this 21-game span, Waiters produced 19.6 points, 5.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting at an elite 46.4 percent clip from long range on 6.0 attempts per game. However, his season-ending ankle injury finished his season prematurely, with the Heat narrowly missing out on the postseason action as a result.

Last summer, the Heat placed their faith in Waiters by signing the now 26-year-old to a four-year, $52 million deal. Unfortunately, the aforementioned ankle injury continued to hamper Waiters, with the Heat eventually pulling the plug on his season after just 30 games.

Entering this offseason, the Heat find themselves in a peculiar spot. While they are desperate to reload their team with a transcendent talent, the Heat find themselves stuck with a number of long-term deals, hence restricting their ability to make moves in both the short and long-term.

Considering his age and considerable upside, Waiters represents one of the more tantalizing players on the Heat roster should they be looking to make a move.

So before the madness of the offseason commences, here are three compelling landing spots for Waiters this summer.
