The Golden State Warriors are the 2017-18 NBA champions after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. What are the takeaways from their dominant season?

Another season, another championship for the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors are NBA champions for the third time in four seasons, and it just keeps getting easier for them. With a lopsided 108-85 road win against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4 Friday night, they became the ninth team in NBA history to sweep their opponent in the Finals.

This was one game less than they needed last year, when they dispatched Cavs in five games.

Stephen Curry led the way with a game-high 37 points and seven 3-pointers, while Kevin Durant was a force of nature in this game, and won his second straight NBA Finals MVP Award. He had 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists on the night to help finish the Cavs off:

This team is now officially a dynasty. Not only that, but you can make the strong argument that they are the best NBA team ever assembled. It’s not clear that there are any legitimate contenders who can dethrone them next year. They took down an excellent Houston Rockets team in the Western Conference Finals, and did so without home-court advantage, winning Game 7 on the road in Houston. In the Finals, they needed only the minimum amount of games.

Next season, the Warriors will look to become just the fifth team in the history of the league to “three-peat.” In order to achieve this, there will be some moves to make, but the core of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green looks like it will be dominant for a long time to come.

For now, they will bask in the glory of another championship, and we will take a look at the five biggest takeaways from another memorable Warriors season.
