Final grade

Drummond was a monster again on the backboard while being an individual force on defense. He drastically improved his free throw shooting to make him playable in clutch situations. Bigger centers often struggle to play increased minutes over the course of a game, but Drummond was able to play 33.7 per game, which is the most he’s averaged in his career.

One major thing he needs to work on heading into next season is his team defense. The team was significantly better with him off the floor, which cannot happen for a player of his caliber. After stating that his mid-range shooting should be a strength of his, it was anything but.

Among Pistons players though, Drummond was still the team’s best player. He was an All-Star, and with a new head coach, should develop into an even better player moving forward. With a full season alongside Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson, his grade should be even better next season.
