Strengths

While the Bulls were excited about what LaVine brings to the table on a nightly basis, the team and its fans would be forced to wait until January before the fourth-year guard was able to return to the lineup.

In his first two outings as a member of the Bulls, LaVine scored a total 32 points on an efficient 12-for-21 from the field and he converted five of his eight attempts from 3-point range.

What was even more impressive is the fact that he accomplished this while being placed on a 20-minute restriction limit to help ease him back into NBA action following an extended layoff.

Although his scoring output dipped a bit (from 18.9 to 16.7 points per contest), LaVine’s production was pretty similar to the numbers he put up during his third season in the Twin Cities, with the exception of his overall shooting numbers (more on that in a bit).

By the same token, the biggest concern for both sides was LaVine being able to get to a point where he was healthy enough to play without being on a minutes restriction, which he did manage to do, even if he only played in 24 games.
