Overall outlook

Carter’s passing ability is both extremely rare and unique compared to other big men in his class. His ability to translate offense in the low/high-post area or as a screener in ball-screens make him likely to become an instant contributor to any NBA offense.

He also has the potential to develop into a much more dangerous offensive threat if his jump shot continues to develop. His ability to score in such a low-usage roll and have both playmaking and scoring equity out of the pick-and-roll make him a perfect young role player to plug in right next to a ball-dominant player.

Defensively, Carter has all the tools to be an above=average, but not elite rim protector. He makes quality rim rotations, has elite length along with showing the patience and IQ to go up with defenders with verticality in order to prevent foul trouble. While he is not completely switchable and will have his share of mismatches on switches, very few true big men are completely switchable in the NBA.

Overall, Wendell Carter Jr. has an extremely high floor on both ends of the court. Do not be the least bit surprised if Carter ends up being a more productive player in the next five years out of any, or most of the top big men in this class. He has all intellectual tools to have unique and cerebral value in the NBA.
