The Clippers won 56 games behind Paul and Jordan, who played in all 82 games. Paul and Jordan once again led the league in assists and rebounds, respectively.

The team was unlucky in having to face the defending champion San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs, but in a very competitive series, Chris Paul hit the game-winner in Game 7 to help his team advance.

The Clippers came out firing in the second round against Houston, taking a 3-1 series lead. However in Game 6, the Rockets overcame a 19-point deficit to win 119-107 in a demoralizing loss. The Clippers then lost Game 7.

This was by far Chris Paul’s best chance to get past the second round while with the Clippers. The team’s lack of depth outside of their Big 3 was ultimately their downfall, and coughing up the 3-1 lead — with Game 6 nearly in hand — represents the most heartbreaking defeat of the Lob City era.
