Entering Game 3 of the 2018 NBA Finals with a comfortable 2-0 cushion, the Golden State Warriors had put all the pressure on the underdog Cleveland Cavaliers. At the Quicken Loans Arena, it was on the Cavs to defend their home-court and make this a competitive series again.
On a night where LeBron James posted a 33-11-10 triple-double, Rodney Hood scored 15 points off the bench and Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson shot a combined 7-for-27, everything seemed to be in Cleveland’s favor.
Fortunately for the defending champs, a walking cheat code by the name of Kevin Durant carried the load. Combined with Golden State’s superior depth and a long-awaited third quarter avalanche, the Warriors stole Game 3 on the road despite the Cavs’ best efforts.
