3. Celtics advance to the conference finals

With a 114-112 victory in Game 5 of their second round matchup with the 76ers, Boston was heading back to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive year.

After bringing back only four players from the previous season, the Celtics were a completely different team, and while they were considerably better off, such roster upheaval could be difficult to manage.

We witnessed the Cavaliers have a similar roster overturn, but then simultaneously struggle to mesh everyone together, shipping out most of their players out at the deadline.

Yes, they still made it back to the conference finals, but unlike what their owner may think, they made it back in spite of those moves, not because of them.

For the Celtics to get as far as they did sans Irving and Hayward was an impressive feat, but to return to the same spot as the year prior speaks volumes not only to the talent on the roster but to the culture of such a well-run organization.
