7. Celtics take Game 7 against Milwaukee

Once it was announced that Kyrie Irving would miss the entire postseason rehabbing from knee surgery, the Celtics appeared to have no shot at contending for an NBA title.

Facing off against the Bucks in the first round, many put the C’s on upset alert, with Milwaukee the home to the best player on either team in Giannis Antetokounmpo, as well as other supplementary pieces in Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe.

After neither team had been able to steal one on the road for six straight games, the series went to a Game 7, where the best player on the court can swing the game for his team, which didn’t bode well for Boston.

Despite three players for the Bucks scoring 20+, led by Middleton with 32, the Celtics still won handily with three 20-point scorers of their own. Meanwhile, their defense locked down everyone else, advancing by a score of 112-96.

With some doubting their ability to advance even past the first round, to show a level of resiliency needed to win a pressure-filled Game 7 showed a lot about what the Celtics are, and what they still had left to show.
