3. Cavs hold strong again in the third quarter

Once again, the Cavaliers managed to pull off what many teams fail to do when facing Golden State: remain competitive in the third quarter.

Cleveland actually outscored the Warriors after halftime by a margin of 34-31, although it did little to chip away at what was already a large deficit.

Golden State’s third quarter prowess has been well documented, making Cleveland’s play in that frame all the more impressive, especially at Oracle Arena.

As the series shifts to Quicken Loans Arena, the Cavs will most likely feed off their fans to build a sizable first half lead.

With the Warriors’ ability to turn a game around with their two-way dominance, Cleveland will have to keep up its level of play in the third quarter, limiting turnovers and controlling the pace in the process.

If the Cavs can sustain their level of play before the final period rolls around while simultaneously limiting Golden State, LeBron’s greatness should be able to carry them to the finish line.
