The Cleveland Cavaliers held on as long as they could, but they simply couldn’t match the firepower of the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Finals.

After a gut-wrenching defeat in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers had a chance to make a statement with a bounce-back win in Game 2.

Sadly, that didn’t happen, as the Golden State Warriors took a 2-0 series lead with a 122-103 victory with the Finals now shifting to Cleveland.

The Cavaliers never led Sunday night, but they were never that far behind, only down single digits for most of the game. Ironically, it wasn’t until the final quarter that Golden State pulled ahead, extending its lead as high as 23 to end any chances the Cavs had at a comeback.

Cleveland was able to manufacture points outside of LeBron James in the loss, as Kevin Love finished with 22 while George Hill poured in 15 in an attempt to make up for his missed free throw in Game 1.

LeBron was not great by his standards, finishing with “just” 29 points along with 13 assists and nine rebounds.

Despite being down 0-2, the Cavaliers still have a chance to get back into this series, as they faced a similar situation in the Eastern Conference Finals. However, this Warriors team isn’t the Boston Celtics, in that they’ve proven they can win on the road.

In order for Cleveland to gain some momentum, it’ll have to make some serious adjustments over the next two days.
