5. Donte DiVincenzo, SG — Villanova

According to a report on Tuesday from Yahoo Sports‘ Shams Charania, the junior guard from Villanova will hire an agent and remain in the 2018 NBA Draft.

On its face, that’s good news for a team like Orlando at the top of the second round, as Donte DiVincenzo is that rare high-upside prospect that also comes in with three years worth of seasoning at arguably the most respected college program in the country.

On the other hand, the news probably means that DiVincenzo will be gone by the time Orlando’s pick comes around. The NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player had previously waffled over whether or not to remain in the draft. The fact that he ultimately chose to declare is a sign that he feels like he’s a first round lock.

It’s no surprise, given a performance at the combine (a 42″ vertical leap to go with an outstanding scrimmage performance), which backed up his title game exploits.

If he’s there at No. 35, it’s tough to see the Magic passing him up.
