The Golden State Warriors mounted yet another second half comeback to beat the Houston Rockets 101-92, ending the 2018 Western Conference Finals. Here are our takeaways from Game 7, and the series as a whole.

The Golden State Warriors are going back the NBA Finals, which takes away many of the great angles for this column. Rather than writing about organizational complacency or the myth that this outcome was inevitable, I have to discuss their 101-92 win over the Houston Rockets.

For a Game 7 road victory that featured a double-digit second half comeback, the game was fairly anticlimactic. More specifically, it was ugly and uneven. The Warriors did not do much right in the first half, and were simply unstoppable in the second. Houston took a million 3-pointers (technically 44), and made zero (technically seven).

Stephen Curry was, as a surprise to no one, the best player on the floor. He finished with 27 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds and four steals while going 7-of-15 from deep. Kevin Durant was the game’s leading scorer (34 points) and Draymond Green its leading rebounder (13 boards). James Harden kept Houston around with his 32 points, but did not shoot the ball well enough or get enough help to make it matter.

With that being said, this was a win-or-go-home contest between two of the best basketball teams the NBA has seen this decade. Even with its relative lack of drama, the takeaways are endless. Here are our top three.
