Final grade

The Denver Nuggets and Jamal Murray seem to be finding a mutual relationship and it’s worked out well so far. Granted, the biggest eyesore on this team is its overall defense. In an offensively-driven league, you can only expect so much.

Murray is in a good position at the combo guard spot. He’s got some solid big men in the frontcourt to work with in Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap as well. He’ll have to work on getting Jokic the ball in more scoring situations, but averaging 3.4 assists in his first stint at point guard isn’t bad.

Jamal Murray is a key player in this Nuggets’ rotation, as is Gary Harris. He’ll need to assert himself as a scorer and distributor in 2018-19 if the team hopes to turn a corner. He’s got pieces to rely on on offense and shouldn’t feel the need to do everything alone.

The investments by the Denver front office are paying off so far. Now, they’ll need to build on their success in 2017-18.
