4. Hamidou Diallo, SG/SF — Kentucky

  • Height: 6’5″
  • Weight: 190 lbs
  • Age: 19

Hamidou Diallo started in all 37 games for the Kentucky Wildcats last season. At 19 years old, he’s still incredibly raw as a prospect, but his ceiling is sky-high thanks to his freaky athleticism.

Last season, Diallo averaged 10.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game on 42.8 shooting from the field. Those numbers aren’t that impressive but his flashes of potential on both defense and offense are what really catches one’s eye.

For example, check out this nasty put-back dunk in the NCAA Tournament:

Also, to go along with the aforementioned defensive upside, check out this ridiculous block:

The knock on Diallo for the Hornets is that he would be a bit of a project. Depending on how you look at it, maybe you’re thinking that isn’t such a bad thing. I’m assuming that with the current roster construction, the Hornets are still trying to win now. However, if they decide to blow it up and start over on a rebuild, Diallo would be the perfect pick at No. 55.
