5. Keenan Evans, PG — Texas Tech

  • Height: 6’3″
  • Weight: 175 lbs
  • Age: 21

Keenan Evans had an outstanding four-year career at Texas Tech. He transitioned from a bench role player to Big 12 star over his four collegiate years. His senior year, Evans averaged 17.6 points, 3.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field.

Evans is going to kick off the main point that you’ll see me making a lot in this article: The Charlotte Hornets desperately need a backup point guard.

It’s their most obvious roster hole and it’s something they need to push them over the mediocre hump that they’ve settled on. Evans would be an excellent player to help them in that area.

He has a solid floor general mentality, can shoot the ball when necessary, and can create for himself and others. He even showed his clutch gene with this play against Texas:

My gut feeling is that Evans will be gone by No. 55, but if he’s around, the Hornets should consider him.
