1. Kevin Hervey, SF — UT Arlington

According to Kevin O’Conner of The Ringer, no player turned more heads at the draft combine than Kevin Hervey.

The lengthy 6’7″ forward averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Mavericks in his senior season. His junior year he was named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year.

Hervey holds most of the basketball records at UT Arlington and will now try to translate his game to the professional level. If his showcase at the combine is any indication, he’ll be able to flourish at the next level.

Hervey has some injury concerns, having torn both of his ACLs already, but his potential is worth the risk. The Ringer projects him to be drafted at No. 52, and Woo from SI has him slated to go 49th.

Should Hervey be available at No. 47, the Lakers could find the hidden treasure they’re looking for.
