While the first round is where all the big names are, the second is where the hidden gems lie. Here are five possible targets for the San Antonio Spurs with their sneaky 49th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The second round may not be the most exciting place to pick in the NBA Draft, but that doesn’t mean there’s no talent to be found there.

Marc Gasol, Draymond Green and Gilbert Arenas are just some of the big names that have come from picks 31-60, and let’s not forget that Manu Ginobili himself was a second round pick by the San Antonio Spurs back in 1999.

This offseason, the Spurs will have plenty of questions to answer about how they want to construct their roster moving forward. The biggest uncertainty is obviously Kawhi Leonard, but there are other roster concerns as well, such as lack of scoring at the guard positions.

Drafting well has always been a key to success for this team, and they will need to make the most of their opportunities once again if they want to remain competitive in the West. Without further ado, let’s jump right into five options at pick No. 49 in the 2018 NBA Draft that could fit well with the Spurs’ system.
