4. Jevon Carter, PG — West Virginia

  • Height: 6’2″
  • Weight: 185 lbs
  • Age: 22

After a lengthy career at West Virginia, Jevon Carter is finally making his way to the league. During his senior season, Carter averaged a nice 17.3 points, 6.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game. Not only was he the offensive leader of their team, but he was the defensive anchor as well. Carter averaged an electrifying 3.0 steals per game during his senior campaign.

His tough, pitbull style of defense that he built up while playing for “Press Virginia” has Tom Thibodeau written all over it. I mean seriously, can you picture any player that a guy like Thibs would like more?

Here’s an example of his tenacious defense at the combine:

The craziest part about this video is that this isn’t footage from a Big 12 Tournament game, this is the NBA Draft Combine and Carter is letting no one have fun at the offensive end.

There are some questions surrounding his fit with the current Wolves’ roster, however.

If the Wolves decide to re-sign Derrick Rose after his strong playoff run and draft Jevon Carter, there will be a point guard logjam. This seems like an appropriate time to remind everyone that they also have Tyus Jones. That’s three players all worthy of backup point guard minutes fighting for the lack of bench minutes that Thibs provides.
