The Minnesota Timberwolves have two picks in the 2018 NBA Draft. Here are 5 options for their second-round pick.

The Minnesota Timberwolves clearly need more shooting and shot-creating. That’s likely to be the focus of their first round pick at No. 20, but for now, let’s focus on their second round pick, No. 48.

It’s difficult to get longevity out of a late second-rounder, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible — especially for a team that sorely lacks a productive bench.

Minnesota was dead last in bench points per game in the 2017-18 season. That’s largely an indictment on Tom Thibodeau’s reluctance to play the bench meaningful minutes, but it also shows a need for more depth. With that being said, each draft pick is extremely important for the Timberwolves, who are looking to bounce back from a solid season that ended in a first round playoff exit.

With the Wolves’ talent in the starting lineup, if they can stay relatively injury free, they should have an incredible 2018-19 season running it back with Jimmy Butler and co. A large part of staying relatively injury free, however, is delegating some regular season duties to the bench.

So with that being said, let’s take a look at five players the Timberwolves can target with the 48th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
