Final grade
Brandon Ingram would have been my highest graded player if he maintained his health and production for the final quarter of the regular season, but I am going to focus on the positives and how much he improved in his sophomore campaign.
His stats are strong for a second-year wing with an expanding amount of responsibilities on the floor, which is probably my favorite aspect of his season. Ingram wasn’t expected to be a primary ball-handler, but some injuries to guards on an already thin surplus of guards jolted him to creating for himself and others, something that will go a long way in his long-term development.
Taking into account his overall stat production and calmness with the increased responsibility, Brandon Ingram deserves a strong grade for his 2017-18 regular season. Hopefully his name goes away in trade rumors, because he is a pinnacle piece to the Los Angeles Lakers’ bright future.
