Chicago Bulls guard Kris Dunn was hoping to have a bounce-back sophomore campaign in 2017-18. Was he able to accomplish this goal?

The Chicago Bulls were interested in drafting Kris Dunn when he came out of college back in the summer of 2016. However, he was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves at the No. 5 spot.

Considering Dunn was a two-time Big East Conference Player of the Year who had earned the reputation as a player who could get it done at both ends of the floor, it was of little surprise that he turned into a top-five pick. Unfortunately for Dunn, his rookie season in the Twin Cities was rather forgettable.

Although he played 78 games (including seven starts), he averaged just 3.8 points and 2.4 assists in 17.1 minutes per contest on 37.7 percent shooting and 28.8 percent from 3-point range. Based on those numbers, Bulls fans weren’t overly excited about acquiring a point guard whose rookie campaign was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

The good news was, with a change of scenery and the opportunity to showcase what he brings to the table on a nightly basis, Dunn was hoping to have a bounce-back season in Year 2.

Did he accomplish this goal? To answer that question, let’s take a look back at his 2017-18 season.
