With their final pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, only five spots later than their No. 40 pick, the Brooklyn Nets can travel down even more varying paths than before. Here are five guys they could target, all of whom are also justifiable at No. 45.

Optionality is the name of the game for the Brooklyn Nets in the 2018 NBA Draft. With two picks in the second round, they finally have some wiggle room to get creative.

With both Nos. 40 and 45, the Nets can go several different directions. Whether it be via a trade up, trade down or staying put, general manager Sean Marks has some freedom for the first time in several years.

How he uses this liberation will be paid attention to league-wide. Marks has a history of shrewd draft selections regardless of his draft position, and there figure to be a bunch of respectable options throughout the second round.

After the first 15-20 prospects of this draft, there seems to be a cluster of dozens of players with similar values. A guy picked at No. 25 has a legitimate chance to be just as good (or bad) as No. 55.

What does this mean for Brooklyn? In all likelihood, Marks will use all three of his picks, which means he’d keep No. 45. The players on the list below are just as likely to get picked at No. 40 as they are at 45, so don’t get too worked up if you think some of these players have higher grades than the ones I advocated for a selection at 40.

Because of the sheer volume of solid prospects in this particular draft, these guys could easily go anywhere from 20th to 60th. How each individual team evaluates these players will vary as much as our evaluations at HoopsHabit vary from writer to writer. Without further ado, here are just a few of the ample players Marks could have a chance to choose from.
