Here are five options for the New York Knicks to consider with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The New York Knicks are going to be busy during the 2018 NBA Draft. They own two selections in the draft, as they will be picking in the lottery at No. 9 and in the second round at No. 37.

The ninth pick is their own, but the No. 37 pick comes courtesy of the Carmelo Anthony. Along with Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott, New York also received a second round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder, via the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls had a better than expected season, but the selection is still higher than the Knicks’ own pick would have been.

A lot of attention will be given to the lottery pick that they have. However, a second round pick this early on can provide the Knicks a player that can contribute right away. There are always players that drop in the draft and New York could be in a place to take advantage of that.

David Fizdale is inheriting a roster that has some needs. However, the Knicks are not close to contending yet, especially with star forward Kristaps Porzingis recovering from a torn ACL. As a result, New York is still in the talent acquisition phase.

At this point, any infusion of talent is welcome to the Knicks. Point guard is probably the only position that the Knicks don’t necessarily need to address with Trey Burke, Emmanuel Mudiay and Frank Ntilikina all on the roster.

Scott Perry and Steve Mills have done a good job retaining future draft picks but will have to bide their time until some cap space becomes available. If they can hit on these draft picks, they will have some affordable talent to help keep their cap space open.

Which players could they target with their second round pick? What the Knicks do with their first pick will undoubtedly impact what they do with their second. Here are five options the Knicks could have to choose from when they are on the clock for the second time in the 2018 NBA Draft.
